The official launch of the latest graphics card from AMD, the Radeon RX 9050, is underway. The AMD Radeon RX 9050 is a low-priced graphics card releasing at a time when other options are hundreds if not thousands more due to the memory crisis. On July 28, AMD launched the new GPU aimed at entry-level PC gaming machines, with a low price point that will make them more affordable to a wider audience of gamers. AMD produces two models of the GPU: An 8GB RAM model and a 4GB RAM model. Although the two variants of this GPU come with different amounts of VRAM, they both still offer 1,024 streaming processors and 16 compute units.
AMD hasn’t announced official pricing as of yet, but a report from Tech PowerUP states that AMD is expected to release this GPU for about $279 USD. So far, AMD has a few confirmed board partners for this card, or at least a few board partners so far that has officially unveiled their versions, and that would be ASRock, Sapphire, and PowerColor. However, none of those companies has yet to list a price for their version of the Radeon RX 9050 GPU.
The AMD Radeon RX 9050 4GB variant won’t launch for PC gamers
While AMD does make this version of the card, as reported by Tech PowerUP, AMD has set this version of the GPU aside for OEMs specifically. It will only be available to companies building low-end gaming PCs to use this version of the GPU in those machines.
The 8GB version is what will be sold directly to consumers. Featuring a dual-fan design, the AMD Radeon RX 9050 GPU will reportedly have clock speeds of up to 2.6GHz. While there appears to be no availability of the GPU in the US at the moment, 91mobiles reports that the GPU has already launched as an available GPU purchase option in Latin America, Japan, and the Asia-Pacific. There is no confirmation yet on when the GPU will be available to buy in other regions.
