At Unpacked next month, Samsung is rumored to be announcing three new foldable devices. Well, technically only one is going to be “new”, the others are successors to last year’s very popular Flip 7 and Fold 7.
Prolific leaker, Ice Universe, has now shared an image showing the screen protectors of the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra front displays. Really showing how wide and short the new Galaxy Z Fold 8 is going to be.
For those that might have missed it, the current thinking is that the name “Galaxy Z Fold 8” is going to be used for the new wide model that only exists because of Apple’s upcoming foldable. While the name “Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra” is going to be the direct successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 from last year.
These screen protectors show that while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is quite a bit shorter, it really doesn’t seem like it’s all that much wider compared to the regular Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. But we’ll find out for sure in around a month’s time.

Samsung is bringing more variety to the folding space, thanks to Apple
Lately, it really seems like Samsung’s changes have all been because of what Apple is getting ready to do. Last year, they launched the Galaxy S25 Edge because Apple was releasing the iPhone Air. Now, Samsung is getting ready to release a wider Galaxy Z Fold 8 because Apple is preparing to launch its first foldable, and it’s going to be much wider than other foldables on the market.
Of course, Samsung isn’t the only one preparing to launch a wider foldable. Huawei has already done it, while others, including OPPO, are getting ready to launch their own very soon.
