Pixel beta testers are getting an unexpected software boost this week. Barely a week after releasing Beta 5—shattering the typical two-week waiting period—Google is already rolling out Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6 (build CP41.260831.007) to stabilize its Pixel lineup.
The quick-fire update focuses entirely on polishing performance. It squashes a wave of severe system crashes, camera reboots, and visual bugs reported by community members across Reddit and the official Android Beta Feedback app.
Squashing reboots, camera glitches, and gesture bugs
The patch notes for Beta 6 target six specific headaches that were ruining daily usability. Users deal with fewer visual glitches, as Google fixed letterboxed content leaking through the status bar during app transitions, blank screensavers while charging, and a bug that stopped swipe gestures from dismissing locked apps in the Recents menu. Most importantly, the build eliminates a major issue causing phones to crash or reboot while simply scrolling through content.
Hardware-specific bugs took priority in this release too. The update fixes unexpected reboots hitting the Pixel 9 Pro Fold whenever third-party apps opened the camera viewfinder. Under the hood, Google also patched a system kernel crash triggered when apps requested simultaneous camera and microphone access during biometric identity checks while continuing work to harden Android against call-forwarding fraud.
Supported hardware, lifecycle limits, and the Pixel 11 holdout
The update is live via Over-The-Air (OTA) downloads and flashable system images. The list of compatible devices ranges from the Pixel 6a through the Pixel 10 family, including the Pixel 9a, Pixel 10a, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel Fold. However, the original Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are officially cut off from QPR2. These devices hit their end-of-support milestone with last week’s Android 17 QPR1 release.
Oddly enough, the brand-new Pixel 11 series is completely missing from this build, despite receiving support in Beta 5 last month. Addressing confused testers on Reddit, Google’s Mishaal Rahman confirmed that builds built specifically for the flagship Pixel 11 lineup are coming very soon.
