HONOR’s next-generation flagships, the Magic 9 series, will debut on September 28th. The lineup will have multiple models, including the top-end HONOR Magic 9 Pro Max. As we inch closer to the announcement, it has been teasing new features. In the latest round, the company is revealing the HONOR Magic 9 ARRI Cinematic Video filters. Here’s what it offers.
HONOR Magic 9 teases ARRI-powered cinematic video filters
To recall, HONOR partnered with German camera maker ARRI earlier this year to take mobile videography to the next level. The first product to leverage this association is the Robot Phone. The company is bringing some of these upgrades to the Magic 9 series. This includes a one-tap cinematic video shooting feature. As the name suggests, there is a collection of filters that can be applied to clips with just one tap.
The feature uses ARRI’s signature cinematic color science and lets users customize color grading workflows similar to those used in ARRI digital cameras, producing realistic skin textures, managing highlights, and balancing colors.

The company has also shared a video demo, which stars actor Xio Zhan, who is the global ambassador for HONOR flagships. It shows how the Magic 9 series can turn colorful surroundings into various effects, giving a more aesthetic look. Users can reportedly choose from ARRI-6220, ARRI-7130, and other effects to adjust the warmth and coolness of their shots. As said, these can be applied with just a single tap and give videos a cinematic feel.
Besides these filters, the teaser hints that the Magic 9 series might bring several photography and videography upgrades and features. We’re also hearing the lineup will feature Android’s first square selfie camera. The Pro Max will feature dual 200MP cameras, including a main and a telephoto. It will support a new 500mm teleconverter kit. That is in addition to the existing 200mm kit. We should know more details in the coming days.
