I’ve Worn a Lot of Smart Glasses, and the RayNeo iO Is the Lightest Pair I’ve Tried Yet

This week at IFA 2026, TCL’s RayNeo announced a trio of new glasses. Of course, the GT and GT Max are getting all of the attention, and rightfully so. But a pair that you should definitely pay attention to is the RayNeo iO.

These are smart AI glasses; think of the Even Realities G2 or the Memomind One from XGIMI. Essentially, smart glasses without a camera and with an on-board monochrome display. But the really cool thing with the RayNeo iO is that it is super lightweight and also has a display that people around you can’t see.

With many of these types of glasses, you can still tell the person is looking at a display. There’s a rectangle in the glasses that makes it evident that they are looking at a screen. But RayNeo says that they’ve solved that, or at least made it really hard to see. In my short time using these glasses, I don’t think that’s necessarily true. I could definitely see the display through my phone when trying to take a selfie with the glasses on.

However, the more important thing to me is the weight. The RayNeo iO weighs in at just 33g. That is incredibly light, as the XGIMI Memomind One weighs 46g and the Even Realities G2 weighs 44g. So this is pretty lightweight, and because RayNeo has evenly distributed the weight, they really don’t feel any heavier than a pair of regular glasses. That’s a big selling point to me anyway. One of the main reasons I don’t wear my Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses that much is that they are quite heavy.

These are more expensive than the Meta Ray-Ban glasses, but they also do more. They are priced pretty similarly to the Memomind One and Even Realities G2.
