Google’s Pixel 11 is reportedly having connectivity problems just like several past generations of Pixel phones, a problem that people thought would disappear after Google switched from using a Samsung modem to the MediaTek M90. The thing is, for the most part, Google’s modem switch has addressed this issue, though not for every single person who owns the latest Pixel phones to hit the market.
Reports from users on Reddit are highlighting a variety of connectivity problems with the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL. It’s also reported that while these issues aren’t limited to one model of the Pixel 11 series phones, they also don’t appear to be extremely widespread, as there are a large number of users who are reporting having no issues with the phone’s connections at all.
Pixel 11 connectivity problems include dropped Wi-Fi and mobile data, slow Wi-Fi speeds, and more
Since Google’s Pixel 11 series phones officially launched on August 20, people have had more than a week now with the devices, and some have started reporting connectivity problems that they’ve noticed popping up since then. Reports are spanning different lengths of time with the earliest coming in 11 days ago, while there’s a different report from 10 days ago and one from 8 days ago.
One user on a Pixel 11 Pro XL notes that their phone will randomly lose 5G connectivity. After that happens they would try to connect to their home’s Wi-Fi network, but would not be able, with the Wi-Fi symbol not even showing up in the top bar.
A different user with the Pixel 11 Pro states that they will lose the 5G connection at random, then an exclamation point shows up next to the mobile data icon, and then the connection will resume a few moments later. They note that this continues to happen and that they’ve already reset the modem, which didn’t fix anything. Google doesn’t have a fix for these issues yet, but a Pixel Community Support Member has responded to one of these users in the Reddit post, stating that they will be looking into the issues further.
