Honor has finally launched its Robot Phone in China, after having unveiled it earlier this year. Honor initially announced the device during Mobile World Congress, and now it’s actually possible for consumers in China to buy the device. The Honor Robot Phone, as its namesake implies, has robot-like features that make it standout from other devices.
The main attraction to the device is the built-in gimbal that is stored in the back of the phone next to the rear camera system. This gimbal makes it possible to record video that can be more optimally stabilized without the need for extra equipment like the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P. The built-in gimbal is a three-axis gimbal as well, and it contains a 200MP resolution camera sensor.
This is in addition to the 50MP ultra-wide sensor and another 200MP telephoto sensor that sit in the housing on the right side. Honor promises quick usage as well, with the claim that the gimbal can extend and be ready for use in 0.8 seconds.
The Honor Robot Phone will come in two different models
Honor will be launching this new phone in two different models. That includes a model that comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and another that comes with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The phone is also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, and it has a pretty large capacity battery with 7,060mAh. It’s also sporting a 6.2-inch display with up to a 120Hz variable refresh rate.
While the phone has technically launched, actual availability doesn’t begin until August 18. As far as pricing goes, the Honor Robot Phone will start at 9,999 Yuan and the model with 1TB of storage will cost consumers 12,999 Yuan. It also comes in two colors, which are Star Rail Silver, and Moon Ash (translated).
