CapCut announced today that it is partnering with Google Gemini. “Soon, users will be able to edit images and videos directly within the Gemini app using CapCut’s advanced creative and editing capabilities.”
This means that you’ll soon be able to tell AI how to edit your video with CapCut’s features, without leaving the Gemini app. That’s honestly pretty cool. Especially for someone who wants to get into the YouTube game but doesn’t have a lot of video editing experience. CapCut is one of the easiest video editing apps to use these days.
CapCut also mentioned that “as creative workflows become more connected and seamless, we believe the future of creation will be more conversational, intuitive, and intelligently integrated across tools and experiences.”
There’s no word on when this integration will be live
Unfortunately, CapCut is not announcing how soon this integration will be available, other than “soon”. Which could mean next week, or it could mean next year. Though at the rate that AI is advancing, it’s likely sooner rather than later.
This news comes after Gemini had a huge week at Google I/O, announcing a boatload of new features. Not just for Gemini, but Google’s other AI products as well. Speaking of Gemini, it did get an app redesign this week, with a Neural Expressive design. It looks really nice and feels much more like a polished AI app than it did before.
Google’s not slowing down on the AI front, even though many consumers are pretty tired of hearing about AI. Soon, you’ll be able to ask Gemini to create a YouTube video for you, and all you’ll need to do is enter the prompt. This can be huge for smaller YouTubers or those just starting out. It’s very exciting times for content creation, even though some will argue that this means more AI slop. Which is also likely.
