A new Pixel Watch bug is seemingly making the rounds and while it’s definitely a small issue, it’s probably not a bug that you’re going to lose any sleep over it. That’s where the bug comes into play. Whether you’re losing sleep or not, for whatever reason, you won’t be able to see that reflected in the Pixel watch sleep score, as the bug apparently revolves around preventing users from seeing the sleep score on the watch.
If you use the sleep score feature on a daily basis, then this surely ends up being an inconvenience. Especially if you use it to help ensure you get better sleep the following night if necessary. That being said, it’s at the very least a bug that doesn’t appear to impair the use of the rest of the watch. So, at least there’s that.
New Pixel Watch bug is preventing users from seeing their sleep score on the watch
This is the important distinction to make and understand. The bug, which doesn’t appear to be widespread but also isn’t an isolated incident, only prevents the sleep score from being viewed on the watch itself. It does not seem to stop the data from being viewed in the Fitbit app (which will soon be called Google Health), and sleep data is still recorded.
As Android Authority reports, one user on Reddit posted about this bug popping up, and some other users have stated they’re encountering similar issues. It’s also worth noting that this seems mostly limited to the Pixel Watch 2. That’s not to say it isn’t impacting users of the other models like the Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Watch 4. However, the majority of problems are apparently coming from Pixel Watch 2 owners.
As of right now, there’s no mention of Google acknowledging this bug or if it has a fix in the works. So for the time being, if you own a Pixel Watch 2 and have this bug, you’ll need to resort to viewing the recorded sleep data in the Fitbit app.
