The Sony WF-1000XM6 true wireless earbuds are the company’s current premium pair of earbuds, and you can now jazz up the case with the vegan leather case cover. Naturally, this is all about protection. Giving you a way to better protect the charging case for the earbuds from scratches, dents, and the like. However, it’s leather because these are premium earbuds after all, and why should your earbuds look less premium in a case?
Leather cases for earbuds are nothing new. You can find leather case covers from Bellroy for things like the Pixel Buds Pro 2, and from Nomad for the Apple AirPods and AirPods Pro series. Sony, on the other hand, tends to release case covers that are more “fun and exciting” in the way of bright colors, and the covers are usually made of a silicone-like material. Those still look great, they just don’t have that premium look and feel that some might be wanting. Which is probably why Sony released these for the WF-1000XM6.
Sony offers two colors of the WF-1000XM6 leather case cover
For those wondering, Sony offers two case cover color options for the charging case. As one might have expected, they match the colors of two of the earbuds. The case cover comes in black and light gray. And when we say they match, they match. The color of the light gray is almost indistinguishable from the light gray of the case and earbuds. In other words, Sony did a bang up job color-matching these products together.
As for the cost, the case covers are $39.99, which isn’t too bad. These are of course vegan leather, and that’s probably why they aren’t more expensive. You can only order these directly from the Sony online store, though they could always end up at other retailers eventually. These case covers are also pre-order only at the moment. The official launch isn’t until next month. Sony says these should be delivered by May 19 – May 20, so that’s likely the official release date.
