Last week, it was reported that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is getting a smaller selfie camera hole. Well, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide could get the same upgrade, it would seem.
Samsung’s wide foldable will get the same camera upgrade as the Galaxy Z Fold 8
This info comes from the same source that shared the Galaxy Z Fold 8 information, Ice Universe. He’s one of the best-known and most accurate tipsters around, so we have no reason to doubt him.
The tipster said, via Weibo, that the so-called Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide will join the Galaxy Z Fold 8 when it comes to shrinking its “front view camera.” As we did in our last article, we presume he only talks about the camera hole on the cover display.
We’re not sure if the same change will happen on the main display. That would be nice to see, that’s for sure.
The camera hole on the front will shrink quite a bit
The camera hole will shrink from 3.7mm to 2.5mm in diameter. That’s a difference you’ll be able to easily notice. It has a 3.7mm diameter on the Galaxy Z Fold 7, in case you’re wondering.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide designs are no longer a secret. We’ve shared designs of both smartphones not long ago. We’re just not sure what the name of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide will be, that’s just a placeholder.
That device will essentially be a wider variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, based on what we know thus far. It will be shorter and wider when both folded and unfolded. It will have a noticeably wider display aspect ratio. Thus, it will be great for watching videos when unfolded, and also for side-by-side multitasking.
This smartphone will arrive at the same time as the Galaxy Z Fold 8. Both devices are tipped to launch in July, during the company’s second unpacked event of the year. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 will also join them. So three Samsung-branded foldable smartphones are coming.
