Xiaomi has announced, yesterday, that the Redmi K90 Max will launch on April 21. That is the company’s upcoming gaming smartphone, and now Xiaomi has shared some additional information, while the device also popped up on Geekbench.
The Redmi K90 Max will be fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor. That’s what the rumors were saying, and both Xiaomi and Geekbench just confirmed it. On top of that, the phone will include a D2 graphics chip.
Xiaomi’s Redmi K90 Max gaming phone will utilize a dual-chip strategy
The dual chip setup is used to handle frame interpolation, resolution scaling, and overall image enhancement during gameplay. Redmi says that this phone can deliver up to 165fps across games. That even goes for titles that do not support such high frame rates.
Furthermore, the model that popped up on Geekbench has 16GB of RAM. That’s probably what the final product will come with as well, as the model that popped up on Geekbench is a prototype.
The Redmi K90 Max is tipped to include a 6.83-inch OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate. That detail has not been confirmed just yet, but it does make sense, as this is a gaming phone. That display is also rumored to be quite bright and offer enhanced touch response.
This will become the company’s first phone with an integrated cooling fan
The Redmi K90 Max will also become Xiaomi’s first smartphone with an integrated cooling fan. It will feature a vertical airflow design and will be able to reduce internal temperatures so that you can continue gaming without interruption.
A large battery is also expected here, but we still don’t have information regarding that. LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 flash storage will likely be included as well. The same goes for fast charging.
It remains to be seen if this phone will make its way to global markets. It will launch in China first.
