The UT Southwestern Medical Center and Children’s Health campus, to be built on 33 acres, will feature two 12-story towers, an eight-story building, a new fetal care center, and over 20 acres of green space. The Dallas Business Journal reports that it’s expected to open with 552 beds. Groundbreaking was last October, and now site preparation work is going full force, erecting two out of the eventual nine tower cranes, soil removal, and pier drilling. The project will include 4.7 million square feet of building space. The health care complex will replace the existing Children’s Medical Center Dallas.Â
HKS Inc. and Perkins & Will are the primary design and architecture firms for the new campus. McCarthy Vaughn Partnership is the construction manager.Â
Now, out of the three-year planning stage, the healthcare providers expect to release more design details.
