I love the robust debate that emerges every time someone on the CarBuzz team writes a story that’s pro-EV, praises an EV for being exciting, or criticizes a combustion car for feeling outdated. That’s not because I thrive on chaos, or because I love EVs. My stance on EVs has always been pretty clear: I believe they have a place in the world; I believe that they make exceptionally efficient appliances for people who don’t care about cars; and I believe some of them can be entirely exciting and entertaining. They deserve to exist, but they are absolutely not the silver bullet that will save the earth from concerns over climate change and carbon emissions. They’re simply one piece of a much bigger puzzle I don’t think we have a full view of yet.
