The AMG engineers were big into the blower craze a solid 20 years before Dodge started stuffing supercharged V8s into all manner of sedans, coupes, and SUVs. In 2002, the first of a generation of supercharged 55 AMG models hit the road using displacement and boost as their weapons of choice in the German horsepower war.
