Vivo seems to have completed all its plans with the X300 series after launching the X300 FE model. Now, they are working on their next big step in the industry. Recent discoveries have confirmed that the upcoming X500 flagship phone series will be even more ambitious than originally rumored. While we already expected the X500e, X500, and X500 Pro, a fourth and more powerful model in the series has just surfaced in the GSMA IMEI database: the Vivo X500 Pro Max.
Vivo X500 Pro Max GSMA IMEI listing suggests global ambition
According to the latest GSMA database records (found by Smartprix), Vivo has officially registered the “X500 Pro Max” name. This is particularly exciting because database listings like these often signal a global rollout. In other words, it suggests Vivo is preparing to bring this model to international shelves as well.
Interestingly, the brand is skipping the “X400” name entirely. This decision likely stems from tetraphobia—a cultural belief in many parts of Asia where the number four is considered unlucky. Instead, Vivo is leaping straight into the 500 series with a “Pro Max” designation. This clearly aims to compete with the top-tier flagships from Apple and Samsung.
Powerful specs, 2nm flagship SoC
What makes this device truly stand out is what’s under the hood. The X500 series is tipped to debut the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro, a chip built on TSMC’s 2nm process. This tech brings a 10-15% gain in performance and a big 25-30% reduction in power consumption. Plus, previous leaks mentioned a massive 7,000mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging.
A big 6.9-inch 2K LTPO OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate could also be on the list. Camera-wise, the device could boast of a 50MP LOFIC main sensor, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, and a multispectral sensor in its photographic system.
Vivo could launch the X500 series sometime between September and October 2026.
