Vivo’s next flagship series, dubbed the X500 series, will launch later this year. It’s believed that Vivo will take a slightly different direction by including a new Vivo X500 Pro Max model. It’s like Vivo is not even trying to hide the obvious Apple-inspired naming choice. As with previous generations, the company is likely to place strong emphasis on cameras. To that extent, a new Weibo leak sheds light on what the Vivo X500 Pro Max will offer in terms of cameras.
Vivo X500 Pro Max leak reveals it’ll feature a 200MP periscope telephoto sensor
Tipster Digital Chat Station is again the source of the leak. The Vivo X500 Pro Max will feature a triple-camera setup on the back. It’ll include a 50MP 1/1.28-inch LOFIC primary sensor and a 200MP with a 1/1.4-inch periscope telephoto sensor. As for the third sensor, Vivo is tipped to be testing an upgraded ultrawide camera based on a 50MP Sony IMX8-series sensor.
However, the leak suggests the company might opt for a smaller 50MP sensor, though details are not yet out. This leak comes just a day after the alleged display details of the Vivo X500 Pro Max have leaked online.
The flagship may debut in September this year
According to the leak, the Vivo X500 Pro Max will sport a 6.85-inch flat LTPO OLED display with 2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. However, previous rumors have pointed to a slightly larger 6.9-inch panel. Regardless, it’ll reportedly support high-frequency PWM dimming across the entire brightness range.
The Vivo X500 series may debut in September in China and gradually expand to global markets. There could be four models in the series, including the vanilla X500, X500 Pro, X500 Pro Max, and the X500 Ultra. Going by the previous rumors, the X500 Pro Max could feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9600 series chip. The device may rock a large 7,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging. That said, considering these are just leaks, it’s best to take them with a pinch of salt.
