Visible is getting into the home internet market with a new 5G service option. The mobile carrier has launched the service today for its current phone plan users. It provides an alternative to standard cable or fiber connections. The new internet plan utilizes the same network as Verizon, but it stands out because it offers a much lower price tag compared to similar options from the big three carriers.
Apart from the big three telcos, smaller prepaid service providers, including Metro, Straight Talk, and Mint Mobile, already offer 5G home internet services. Now, Visible is also trying its luck in the same segment.
Visible now offers 5G home internet service at just $50 for the first two months
Starting today, you can get Visible’s 5G home internet service for an introductory price of $49.99. This covers your first two months of internet access and includes a free 5G gateway device or modem. Also, you don’t have to worry about extra lease payments.Â
After the first two months, Visible’s new service costs $30 a month. That price includes all taxes and fees. If you want to save money, the carrier gives you the option to buy an annual plan for $300.
If you pay for a full year in advance, it brings the monthly cost down to just $25. This pricing makes Visible’s service very competitive. Other prepaid mobile brands typically charge $35 to $45 a month for their 5G home internet services.
You must have an active phone plan to get Visible’s 5G home internet service
There is one requirement to get Visible’s affordable 5G home internet service. You need to be an existing mobile customer with the telecom operator first. The carrier requires you to keep an active cell phone plan on its network before you can sign up for the new internet service
It’s worth mentioning that while Visible’s 5G home internet service’s pricing is cheap, the actual connection speeds might be a bit slower than traditional wired internet. Since the service uses a cellular network, your download speeds can fluctuate depending on your location. It is also likely that the data traffic gets a lower priority compared to direct Verizon internet users.
