The Pixel 11 series phones are experiencing a few bugs right from the get-go with the most recent being tied to the video recording function. Google officially announced the Pixel 11 series phones back on August 12, with the phones having gone on sale on August 20 and shipping out to customers that same day for those placed pre-orders prior to the launch date.
This isn’t the first bug that people have been experiencing, but it’s also not the most negatively impacting bug that’s come up. Just earlier this week, a series of reports had started surfacing about users with Pixel bugs that were causing apps to crash. This resulted in the crashing of several apps, including Google Photos, Spotify, and more, but it also wasn’t limited to just the Pixel 11 series. Another Pixel 11 bug, however, was causing problems for Genshin Impact players, where loading the game up shows the majority of the UI as a purple blob.
The Pixel 11 video recording bug is claimed to be tied to the Video Boost feature
According to reports from at least one user having this issue, the video recording bug, which causes glitches in the audio at set intervals, is tied to the Video Boost feature. Having this enabled is suspected to be a cause, with it not being present while the feature was turned off.
That being said, other users are reporting differences in their experience with the audio glitches. Some are stating that it’s present with video recordings that are being made in 4K HDR at 60 frames per second. Another user says the issue popped up for them when recording at 30 frames per second. Google does not appear to have acknowledged this issue yet and there’s no mention of a fix. It isn’t clear how many users are affected by the bug either.
