Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 charging speeds might not be the hot topic for all users at the moment, but it’s going to eventually be something that users are curious about. Because if you’re going to be using the watch, you’re going to want to know just how long it takes to charge up. Imagine, if you will, a scenario where you forgot to toss your watch on the charger before you went to bed. Then you wake up in the morning and realize it doesn’t have much battery life left, and you need to charge it up before you leave for work.
Obviously, you’d prefer to have it be done charging before you leave. And in many cases it would be if you start getting ready an hour or so before you head out the door. This leads us to the latest bit of news about the Galaxy Watch 9, as it’s charging speed has apparently been discovered.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 charging speeds are reportedly set at 10W
It’s worth noting that no details about the Galaxy Watch 9 series have been confirmed yet. Samsung also hasn’t officially announced the watch. That’s expected to happen in short order, however, with the reveal expected to happen sometime around the end of July. So, there’s a decent chance that any information coming out now as part of leaks and certifications is accurate.
With that said, the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 are suspected to have recently passed through the 3C certification. According to SammyGuru, both watches support 10W charging. This is the same speed supported by the Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic.
This doesn’t automatically make it a bad thing. For one, the batteries may end up being larger capacity. And if you pair that with improvements to power efficiency of Wear OS 7, these watches could last a while on a single charge.
