A Trader Joe’s could be coming to your hometown. On Wednesday, Trader Joe’s announced it would open nine new stores, in addition to the previous batch of 18 new stores it announced in April.
The newest batch of locations will pop up across eight states including Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Ohio, and Utah.
The grocer did not provide dates for the planned openings but confirmed the new stores will be at the following locations:
- Arizona: Phoenix (21001 North Tatum Boulevard, Suite 1030)
- Florida: Sarasota (8199 S Tamiami Trail, Unit 100)
- Illinois: Chicago (804 West Montrose Ave.)
- Massachusetts: Quincy (111 General McConville Way)
- Michigan: Farmington Hills (27658 Middlebelt Rd.)
- New York: Syracuse (3515 West Genesee St.)
- New York: Yonkers (2482 Central Park Ave.)
- Ohio: University Heights (2643 Warrensville Center Rd.)
- Utah: West Jordan (5561 W 7800 S.)
Last month, Trader Joe’s announced it would open 18 new stores across 12 states. Those openings included locations in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Utah, and Washington.
Trader Joe’s expansion isn’t new, but it does seem to be building momentum. In 2025, the grocer opened around 30 new stores, bringing its total number of locations to more than 600. This year, the chain has already announced 25 new locations.
But while it’s more likely than ever that you may soon have a Trader Joe’s in your neighborhood, there are still a handful of states that don’t yet have one to call their own. Trader Joe’s stores haven’t yet made their way to Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, West Virginia, or Wyoming.
Around one-third of the company’s stores are in its home state of California.
