The Toyota RAV4 is, by a huge margin, the Japanese automaker’s best-selling vehicle in the US. It sold 475,193 of them last year alone, an increase of more than 40,000. Not only that, but the RAV4 outsold the next-best Camry by 165,317 units. The SUV is a big deal for the automaker, and the company is going to want to keep it that way if it can. Toyota has a bit of a problem, though. Production of the RAV4 is spread across Japan, Canada and the US, with just the hybrid built in the US. With the Trump administration instituting 25% tariffs on imported cars, that presents a problem, and according to Reuters, it’s a factor that has Toyota considering some production changes.
