Toyota Barely Raises the Pricing
Toyota ditched the clunky ‘bZ4X’ badge for the much simpler ‘bZ’ last year, and it wasn’t just a name swap. The electric crossover got real upgrades: more range, quicker charging, and extra power.
Clearly, that change resonated with customers. By June, Toyota moved 17,553 bZs in the US – almost double last year’s tally at this point. That’s an 89.8% jump, making the bZ one of Toyota’s hottest tickets right now.

Toyota isn’t about to mess with a good thing. For 2027, the bZ comes back almost untouched – just an $80 bump across the board, and that’s it.

A Familiar Formula That Still Offers Plenty
Why mess with success? The 2027 Toyota bZ keeps all the good stuff from last year, like standard NACS compatibility so you can plug in at most public DC fast chargers nationwide. Battery preconditioning sticks around too, making sure charging stays quick no matter the weather.
Two battery packs are on offer: the top-dog XLE FWD Plus still claims 314 miles of range, while Limited FWD and AWD versions hit up to 299 miles. Go for the base XLE FWD, and you get a smaller battery good for 236 miles. Plug into a DC fast charger and, if the stars align, you’ll go from 10 to 80 percent in about half an hour.
Step inside and you’ll find a 14-inch touchscreen, dual wireless phone chargers, heated front seats, dual-zone climate, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. Spring for the Limited and you get ventilated front seats, heated rears, a panoramic glass roof, 20-inch wheels, and a digital rearview mirror. Not too shabby.

Momentum Is On Toyota’s Side, At Least For EVs
Toyota’s decision to keep prices in check couldn’t have come at a better moment. The bZ is outselling some of Toyota’s heavy hitters: 15,122 Land Cruisers and 13,403 Sequoias moved in the first half of the year, but the bZ leaves them both in the dust. Sure, they’re different beasts – and the 4Runner has become a runaway hot-seller this year so far – but it shows just how much buzz this electric crossover is getting.
Looks like Toyota has hit the sweet spot. The bZ nails it with sharp pricing, real-world range, better charging access, and that all-important Toyota badge. There aren’t any sweeping updates for the next model year as Toyota is sticking to what works – and buyers seem to love it.
