When we think of the Toyota Supra – and we don’t mean the current BMW-based GR Supra – the typical image that comes to mind is the Supra many of us grew up with, known as the fourth generation A80 model with the famous 2JZ straight-six engine, produced between 1993 and 1998 in the United States, and until 2002 in its entirety. We certainly don’t think of the Toyota Camry when we think of the Supra; why would we? After all, the Camry has been Toyota’s modest, best-selling sedan for a few decades now, but it’s by no stretch of the imagination a sports car.
