The 2027 BMW X5 gave us a few surprises when it debuted a couple weeks ago, with bold styling that broke ties with its predecessors and an unprecedented five propulsion options. One thing that isn’t a shock, however, is the variety of internal combustion powertrains the new “Sports Activity Vehicle” will offer, which will include Europe-only diesel engines and BMW’s signature gasoline inline-six. There’s even at least one V8 in the pipeline, and it won’t even be limited to the rumored X5 M.
