The iPhone 18 Pro Max could have a larger battery than the Galaxy S26 Ultra worldwide. This was already true last year with the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which had a 4,823mAh battery in Europe, but in the US, since it was eSIM-only, it had a 5,088mAh battery. Now, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is set to get an even larger battery – surpassing even the Pixel 10 Pro XL.
According to a new leak, here are the battery sizes for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max:
- iPhone 18 Pro: 4,056mAh (Europe), 4,288mAh (US)
- iPhone 18 Pro Max: 5,235mAh (Europe), 5,425mAh (US)
That is a very small increase on the smaller iPhone 18 Pro, but the Pro Max is seeing a 6% increase over last year’s model. And at 5,425mAh, it makes it the largest battery in a phone sold in the US that does not use silicon-carbon. Motorola and OnePlus both have larger batteries, but both are using silicon-carbon for those batteries.
Given how well the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max already do in some battery tests, this could be a huge jump in battery life on the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Unfortunately, the iPhone 18 Pro is only getting a 1% battery size increase this year, so battery life will likely remain unchanged.
The Android Headlines Take
This is definitely great news for iPhone users, especially if this does turn out to be true. But it also shows that Samsung really has no excuse for not using a larger battery in the Galaxy S26 Ultra when Google and now Apple are both using larger batteries.
With how much Apple influences Samsung these days, it would not be a surprise to see Samsung opt for a larger battery in the Galaxy S27 Ultra next year. After all, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra are supposedly getting larger batteries this year.
