As the launch of GTA 6 looms and reaches the point of where it’s just over one month away, Rockstar has now released an official launch trailer for the game. Initially launched on October 15, the new trailer showcases mostly cinematic story beats, fueled by the electronic melodies of Justice’s new single ‘Flower in A Hurricane.’
The trailer sets up part of the story with Jason getting a call from Lucia Caminos (the second playable protagonist), and as the trailer unfolds you get a sense of their friendship/partnership growing into a full-on relationship, giving the whole trailer a Bonnie and Clyde vibe by the time it reaches the end. The trailer also mentions that Jason had been in the military prior to his current situation in the game, noting that he had “gotten in some trouble in the Army” and that he “didn’t leave on the best of terms.” This gives you a sense of his skills and plays into his role of the “badass” that he’s being portrayed as.
The GTA 6 launch trailer doesn’t really show off any gameplay
The trailer is roughly 1 minute and 30 seconds long, and it’s essentially one big string of cutscenes. Rockstar hasn’t announced any plans for a gameplay trailer before launch, but there’s a whole lot of gameplay footage in the Extended Look that was released back in September, specifically 26 minutes of it.
There have reportedly been rumors of another trailer for GTA 6 popping up before launch, even without any sort of confirmation from Rockstar. If one is released, it would be the third official trailer of the game, with the first one having been released a whole two years ago. GTA 6 officially launches on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and a PC release is rumored to happen sometime before the end of March 2027.
