While larger crossovers and SUVs have found considerable success in the US over the last couple of decades, the same can’t be said for smaller vehicles. Small hatchbacks like the Toyota Yaris have been pretty much outlawed across the board due to a lack of interest, primarily in the face of the onslaught of subcompact crossover SUVs. The Chevrolet Trax and Subaru Crosstrek rule the roost in this particular arena, but new examples will set you back north of $20,000.
