I’ve spent the past week in Barcelona, trekking up and down eight halls at Fira Barcelona to find the best smartphones, tablets, smart glasses, and other gadgets at Mobile World Congress 2026. And here’s the coolest gadgets that I found.
Some of these gadgets were awarded our Best of MWC award. Let’s talk about the coolest stuff I found in Barcelona.
Lenovo ThinkBook Modular PC

Even before MWC officially started, I got the chance to go hands-on with Lenovo’s ThinkBook Modular PC. This is a concept device from Lenovo, that will most likely turn into a real product in a year or two – a lot of Lenovo’s concepts do turn into real products eventually.
Essentially, you have two 14-inch OLED displays here, which are detachable. So you basically get a secondary monitor to use with your ThinkBook PC. And the keyboard can also be detached. Which makes for a really cool setup, and honestly, this would be the perfect PC to buy and travel with. Especially if you’re like me and are used to having an ultrawide monitor (or dual monitors).
HONOR Robot Phone

- Disclaimer: HONOR did sponsor our flights and most of our lodging during MWC this year. However, none of our content on HONOR’s announcements and products was sponsored, nor did the company see what we wrote before it was published.
Next up is the HONOR Robot Phone, which is something that Honor has shown off a few times already, including announcing it last year. At MWC, HONOR announced that it will be a real product that you can buy later this year.
Essentially, this is a bar phone that has a 200MP camera on a gimbal that is attached to the phone. It might sound silly, but it’s actually really useful, especially if you like to record content with your phone.
And because it is a “robot phone”, it can also dance, because why not?
HONOR Humanoid Robot
Having been to many tech trade shows, seeing humanoid robots isn’t something particularly new. Back in January, I was walking from the South Hall at LVCC over to Central Hall, following a humanoid robot that was the size of a small child.
But HONOR came to MWC to launch its first humanoid robot, and really its first robot in general. And I was impressed. HONOR didn’t show a lot of functionality of the robot, but it did show it dancing, both at its event and at its booth. What really impressed me was how agile it was. Watch the video above to see what I mean. Unfortunately, because of the music HONOR used, we cannot upload it to YouTube.
I’m pretty excited to see what HONOR can do with this in the future.
Motorola Razr Fold FIFA Edition

Back at CES, Motorola announced the Razr Fold, sort of. It gave us a tease with a few specs. But this week, we got even more specs, and we also got the FIFA Edition that will go on sale later this Summer.
The Razr Fold FIFA Edition looks incredible, and I honestly think it looks better than the Razr FIFA Edition, since it is in that black and gold color scheme. Honestly, I’m very excited to spend more time with this device when Motorola officially announces it in a few months. Especially after seeing its DXOMark score.
Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite

While this is technically not a “gadget” per se, it is still a pretty big announcement. The first big update for a wearable processor in quite a few years from Qualcomm. While they are using the term “Elite” here, it’s basically saying that it is the high-end processor on the wearable side, and the Snapdragon Wear W5 and W5+ will continue to exist in new products.
The Snapdragon Wear Elite will be coming to the next generation of Galaxy Watches later this year, and Motorola is also going to use it in its AI pendant. Kind of showing us that the Snapdragon Wear Elite is more than just a smartwatch processor, but more of a processor for all wearable devices from smart glasses to AI pendants, to watches.
TCL NXTPAPER AMOLED

Over the past few years, TCL has really been pushing its NXTPAPER technology. This is their matte and anti-glare screen technology that can also turn into e-ink with a switch on the side of the phone. But the big problem with these is that it’s been on an LCD panel, which means the colors don’t look as great.
But now, TCL is using AMOLED for this new device. The TCL NXTPAPER AMOLED looks absolutely stunning, while still being matte and eliminating all shadows and reflections. Hopefully, now TCL will start to move into a more high-end smartphone market, versus always launching more mid-range and low-end devices.
TCL CSOT World’s Narrowest-bezel OLED Tablet Display

Sticking with TCL but moving over to its display side, let’s talk about this OLED tablet display. This is, what TCL CSOT is saying is the “World’s Narrowest-bezel” OLED Tablet Display. This is a 3120×2080 resolution display with 284 pixels per inch, and the bezels are just 1.3mm on all sides. So this isn’t some low-end display to help achieve those thin bezels either.
Huawei and Lenovo do tend to use some of TCL CSOT’s other display offerings, so we could see this tablet screen being used by one or the other, or both, in the near future.
vivo X300 Ultra

At MWC this week, vivo unveiled the X300 Ultra – a little bit. For the first time ever, vivo had a booth at Mobile World Congress and was showing off their next big thing, the vivo X300 Ultra. But they were mostly focusing on the attachments and the video quality of the new smartphone. As the official announcement is still about a month away.
But from what we’ve seen so far with the X300 Ultra, we’re going to be very impressed with this device. vivo is also adding a 400mm teleconverter lens, along with the 200mm that was already available for the X200 Ultra and X300 Pro. vivo also unveiled that all three devices use the same mount, so the teleconverter lens will work on all three smartphones; that’s a huge deal.
We still have some time to wait for the X300 Ultra, but we definitely like what we see so far.
TECNO Under Water Charging

This concept from TECNO is a “cool, but why?” type of concept. TECNO was showing off the ability to charge their phones underwater, completely submerged in basically a fish tank. They were plugged in and charging. That’s a really cool feat, because we’ve had waterproof phones for a while now, but being able to charge under water is not something we’ve seen before – and not something I’ve thought of.
I’m not even actually sure what the use-case would be for this feature. But it is cool nonetheless.
TECNO Modular Magnetic Concept

TECNO always comes to MWC with multiple concept devices, and the other interesting concept is the TECNO Modular Magnetic Concept. Think of MagSafe, but on steroids.
So, this concept starts with an ultra-thin phone, we’re talking about 4.9mm thin. And then you have modules that you can add on. Like batteries, kickstands, cameras, and even a telephoto converter that looks quite cool. But the best part here is, you don’t have to use just one. You can keep adding on. Now obviously, you aren’t going to do this often, mostly just to show off. You’d likely use the battery pack (which is around 3,000mAh) and another add on like a camera lens and call it a day.
This reminded me a lot of the Moto Z that Motorola launched nearly a decade ago, with its Moto Mods. It was a good idea, but it meant that Motorola couldn’t change its design for years, because of these Moto Mods. And most of them were mediocre and pretty pricey. So here’s hoping that if and when this becomes a real product, that TECNO will do a better job in that department.
Wrap Up
And those are my picks for the coolest gadgets at MWC this year. Quite a few more could have definitely made the list here. But these were all pretty cool in their own right. Many are concepts that may or may not turn into real products, so do keep that in mind.
