Generative AI is moving fast beyond basic chat responses, and SpaceXAI is stepping directly into the creation space with its latest release. Elon Musk‘s company is introducing Build Mode, a new vibe-coding feature inside Grok that transforms text prompts into fully functional websites, tools, interactive media and even apps in real time.
Currently rolling out in early beta, the tool is available exclusively to SuperGrok Heavy subscribers across grok.com as well as the official iOS and Android apps.
How it works and what you can create
Grok’s Build Mode does not simply generate raw code snippets for you to copy and paste elsewhere. Instead, Build Mode renders a live, working preview directly inside your ongoing chat thread. Users can continuously refine their creations with natural language to modify layout designs, add specific features, tweak color styles or change logic without touching code.
According to SpaceXAI, the tool supports a number of interactive projects:
- Websites & Portfolios: Landing pages and personal showcases.
- Functional Apps: Calculators, task planners, interactive trackers, and custom utilities.
- Games: Arcade racers, puzzle games, and 3D environments.
- Live Dashboards: Interactive data visualizations that pull real-time information via custom connectors.
- Once a project is ready, users can publish their creation using a shareable grok.me web link or attach it directly to a custom web domain.
Joining the vibe-coding competition
With this launch, Grok officially joins the rapidly growing segment of AI-powered app builders designed for “vibe coding“—a trend where creators rely on natural language prompts rather than traditional programming languages ​​to build software. This way, SpaceXAI is positioning Grok as a direct competitor to established AI creation tools like Google’s AI Studio, Anthropic’s Claude Artifacts, OpenAI’s ChatGPT Codex and others.
That said, competitors often focus heavily on developer-centric environments. On the other hand, Grok aims to simplify the process by removing software setup, local installations, and complex configuration steps entirely.
