The Sony Xperia 1 VIII colors have surfaced in what seem to be marketing images. This follows the Amazon listing, which has now been removed, and CAD-based renders of the device that surfaced recently.
All four Sony Xperia 1 VIII colors are shown in marketing images
If you take a look at the gallery below, you’ll see the phone in four colors. This design goes hand-in-hand with the CAD-based renders that have surfaced, so it does seem to be the final design of the device.
Four colors are shown here: Graphite Black, Iolite Silver, Garnet Red, and Native Gold. The first image in the gallery is the original one that surfaced, while the second one has been enhanced, says notebookcheck.
The phone will have three cameras on the back and a new camera design. All three cameras will sit on a square camera island, which will protrude a bit on the back of the phone.
Sony still refuses to utilize a display camera hole
The device will once again avoid using a display camera hole; instead, its top and bottom bezels will be slightly thicker. That’s Sony’s way of doing things. That’s not something you can see here, but the CAD images did show it.
Furthermore, its frame will be flat all around, it seems. The power/lock button will sit on the right side, and double as a fingerprint scanner. The volume up and down buttons will be placed above it. There is also a camera shutter key on the right side. The back side of the phone will be flat, other than the camera island.
A better periscope telephoto camera is coming
A recent leak also suggested that the company will bring a much larger sensor for the periscope telephoto camera than the one the Xperia 1 VII offered. Adjustable focal length will no longer be available, though.
June 26 is tipped as the device’s release date, which was part of the Amazon listing. However, Sony has confirmed that the phone will be announced on May 13, so that part is official. So it’s coming a bit earlier than we expected.
