The Apple iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are available now, and many of you are probably wondering how durable they are. Well, Zack from the JerryRigEverything YouTube channel managed to get his hands on both devices.
The iPhone 18 Pro survived torture, aka durability tests, with ease
We all know what that means… torture tests. The first test that he conducted was the display scratch test. Both of these phones have the same display protection, by the way. Their displays scratched after Zack used a level 7 pick, with deeper grooves appearing after a level 8 pick was used.
He then proceeded to scratch up the frame and the buttons to show us they’re made out of metal. The buttons are also not removable, by the way. There is a plastic 5G antenna included at the top.
The camera lenses do not pop off, as they do on Samsung phones. Zack tried to get them off with a razor. The border surrounding the camera plateau on the back is made out of plastic, which helps with reception.
Most scratches can be wiped off the surface, interestingly enough, though not the deep ones, of course. He showed that in the video as well.
The next text was the fire test. The display lasted for 25 seconds under direct flame without taking permanent damage, which is also impressive. This test is not all that useful, but it’s always interesting to see.
The bend test was not a problem either
Many of you are usually most interested in the bend test. Well, you’ll be glad to hear that these phones not only don’t break, but they don’t even budge under pressure. You don’t have to worry about them bending or anything like that.
