If you’re looking to put together a sound system for your TV setup at home, a soundbar might actually be a good choice. Yes, we know having floor-standing speakers and a subwoofer would definitely up the game and give you a more cinematic feel, but those can be pricey. Soundbars are more compact and oftentimes cheaper. If you’re looking for new soundbars, Samsung has announced two new models they are bringing to the US.
Samsung HW-Q990H
The HW-Q990H is Samsung’s flagship for 2026. It’s an 11.1.4-channel system that comes with wireless rear satellite speakers and a compact dual subwoofer right in the box. Dolby Atmos is supported both wired and wirelessly, so you don’t need to rely on an HDMI cable to get the full effect.
There are also two new features this year. One comes in the form of Sound Elevation, which makes dialogue feel like it’s coming from where characters actually appear on screen, rather than firing straight out of the soundbar. Then there’s Auto Volume, which keeps things steady when you switch between channels or streaming apps. This helps cut out those annoying volume spikes. Rounding out the feature set are SpaceFit Sound Pro, which uses a built-in mic to analyze your room and calibrate the audio automatically, Adaptive Sound, Active Voice Amplifier Pro, and AI Dynamic Bass Control.
For connecting to other devices, you get Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Google Cast, and Spotify Connect. It also works with Samsung’s Q-Symphony, which syncs the soundbar with your Samsung TV’s built-in speakers for a layered audio output. Q-Symphony now supports pairing up to five sound devices with a single TV. The HW-Q990H is priced at $1,999.
Samsung HW-Q800H
The HW-Q800H steps things down a notch without cutting too many corners. It’s a 5.1.2-channel system that includes a subwoofer but skips the rear satellite speakers. If your room is smaller or you just don’t want to deal with extra hardware around the room, this one’s worth a look.
It carries over most of the key features from the flagship, including Q-Symphony, SpaceFit Sound Pro, Adaptive Sound, Active Voice Amplifier Pro, and Sound Elevation. Dolby Atmos is on board too, and connectivity options match the flagship with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, and Google Cast all present. If you’ve been keeping an eye on Samsung soundbar deals, waiting for the right time to buy, the HW-Q800H at $1,099 is the more accessible entry point into the 2026 Q-Series.
