The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 received the October 2026 Android update recently, and the same goes for the Galaxy S25 series. It’s now the turn for the Galaxy S24 series from the company.
The Galaxy S24 series is now getting the October 2026 Android update
The update has started rolling out ot the Galaxy S24 series, including the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. It is now rolling out in the company’s homeland, Korea, but it will spread to other markets shortly.
Samsung usually starts the update process in Korea, but it only takes days for the update to reach other markets. Well, that’s the usual process, at least.
62 fixes in total are included
In any case, this update delivers a total of 62 security fixes to the three devices. 45 of those fixes come from Google, while the remaining 17 are provided by Samsung.
It is worth noting that 9 fixes from Google are marked as ‘critical’, 33 as ‘high risk’, 3 as ‘moderate risk’, and there are no ‘low risk ’ ones. When it comes ot Samsung, there are no fixes for ‘critical’ or ‘low risk’ issues, but the update includes 6 patches for ‘high risk’ issues and 7 for ‘moderate risk’ ones. Do note that 4 fixes come from Samsung Semiconductor.
Having said that, the update is rolling out in stages in Korea. The same will be the case when it reaches other markets. So be ready to wait for the update to reach your phone, as it can take up to a week or two after the rollout starts.
This update does not include new features, unsurprisingly
This update does not deliver any new features to the phones. That is not surprising at all, considering that the One UI 9 update arrived on the Galaxy S24 series not long ago. Your phone will let you know once the October update is ready, but you can manually check via Settings -> Software update -> Check for updates.
