Our lives are so busy that sometimes there are way too many things to track and remember. This is where features like Google’s At A Glance come in. Samsung has its own version too called Now Brief, which could be getting an upgrade. According to an APK teardown by Android Authority, notification reminders could soon be folded into Now Brief.

The source discovered potential evidence that One UI 9 could upgrade Now Brief to include notification reminders.
Just in case you’re not a Samsung user or have never really used the feature, Now Brief functions similarly to Google’s At A Glance. It shows users content and suggested actions based on their daily routines. This includes reminders for schedules, health, wellness, music, podcasts, travel, and more. However, based on this discovery, it could soon include notification reminders. This means that Now Brief could eventually let you know where there are high-priority notifications that you need to tend to.
We’re not sure what would be considered a “priority notification,” but it could include messages or emails. According to Android Authority’s discovery, these notifications might exist separate from the Now Brief pill. Instead, it might appear as a separate card or block. This is not a bad idea, especially since it could easily get lost within all the other information.
When is One UI 9 coming?
That being said, it should be noted that this was discovered in One UI 9, which isn’t available yet. Samsung recently released the One UI 9 beta, but even then, it’s currently only available for the Galaxy S26 series. Since the update is based on Google’s upcoming Android 17 release, it could be a few months before we actually see it make its way onto phones.
By then, it is also possible that the feature could either be scrapped or tweaked to be different from what we’re seeing now. Either way, it sounds like it could be a useful upgrade. Hopefully we’ll have more details in the coming months.
In the meantime, Google I/O 2026 is around the corner. We should have more details about Android 17 then, which should also give us a very rough idea of when Samsung could release its One UI 9 update.
