The travel experience can be chaotic due to everything you need to manage. There are many tools out there designed precisely to help you navigate these situations. Now, Samsung is doing the same through one of its most useful services. The company just announced the launch of “Trips,” a new feature within Samsung Wallet designed to act as a personal travel assistant.
Instead of forcing users to dig through scattered emails, various airline apps, and screenshot folders, Trips consolidates everything into a single, chronological timeline.
Samsung Wallet’s ‘Trips’: A unified travel timeline for Galaxy users
The feature is now officially rolling out across South Korea, the United States, and the United Kingdom. It targets solving the “friction” caused by fragmented information during your travels. According to Woncheol Chai, EVP at Samsung’s Mobile eXperience Business, the goal is to give Galaxy users one place where their plans organize themselves.
The key word here is “automation.” When users add boarding passes, hotel confirmations, or rental car receipts to their Samsung Wallet, the system automatically groups them based on timing and location. This creates a cohesive journey map that covers everything from the initial flight to the moment you check into a theme park days later.
Beyond the basics, the feature is quite comprehensive. It handles tickets for trains and buses and sporting events and even allows for manual entries. This manual option is particularly useful for travelers who want to attach memos or specific reminders to their reservations, such as restaurant addresses or meeting times. This puts the Korean tech giant in direct competition with existing travel tools from Google and Apple.
Security
Safety is a key component when handling sensitive data. Of course, passport details and hotel bookings clearly fall into this category. Samsung has secured the Trips feature using its defense-grade Knox platform. This ensures that all travel information is encrypted and protected by biometric authentication. So, only the owner’s device can access the data.
Samsung said it has even bigger plans for Trips. The company will continue expanding the platform through partner integrations, which could eventually include real-time flight updates and loyalty program management. For now, the feature is available on compatible Galaxy smartphones.
Availability
For now, the feature is available on compatible Galaxy smartphones—including the new S26 series. Users are receiving it via a Samsung Wallet app update.
