The phone was announced back in March, and now it’s on a quarterly update schedule. Samsung did confirm that it will stick to what it promised when the device was announced, though, in terms of updates.
Samsung promised six major OS upgrades and six years of security patches. That’s what makes this move even weirder. Moving a phone to quarterly updates only 4 months after it was announced, and it’s supposed to get updates for 6 years… very odd.
Samsung usually keeps mid-range Galaxy A devices on a monthly schedule for quite some time before moving them to a quarterly schedule. Well, for some reason, that’s not the case this time around.
It did not receive the July 2026 update just yet
The Galaxy A37 has not yet received the July 2026 Android security update, even though a ton of other devices did, including the Galaxy A33 even. In any case, you’ll be getting updates every three months now, if you own this phone.
The Galaxy A37 arrived alongside the Galaxy A57, and that phone is still on a monthly regimen, so don’t worry about that. The main point is, Samsung will still adhere to its promise for the Galaxy A37, in terms of update longevity, and that’s the most important thing.
As a reminder, the Galaxy A37 arrived with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is fueled by the Exynos 1480 processor, and offers 6GB, 8GB, or 12GB of RAM.
A 5,000mAh battery is also a part of the package, as is 45W wired charging. A 50-megapixel main camera on the back is backed by an 8-megapixel ultrawide unit and a 5-megapixel macro camera.
