Prices continue to rise on all sorts of consumer electronics products and the latest on the Samsung side of things is its series of affordable phones in the Galaxy A series, which are now reportedly seeing a price hike to counteract the rising costs of manufacturing components like RAM and storage. In the past few days, Samsung has started raising the price of its flagship Galaxy S26 family of devices in several regions, including the US, Canada, the UK, Europe, and its home country of South Korea.
While those devices were already expensive to begin with, having launched with higher price tags compared to last year’s Galaxy S25 series, Samsung has raised them again, with most variants now costing $100 more in the US. Those looking toward Samsung’s more affordable phones won’t be paying as much, but they will be paying more now.
Samsung issues price hike for the Galaxy A57 5G, Galaxy A37, Galaxy A27, and Galaxy A17 5G
Where you might think that Samsung would keep price hike tactics to its more high-end flagship devices like the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy Z Flip 8, that isn’t the case at all, as Samsung is raising prices on every Galaxy A series phone from 2026, including its least expensive model, the Galaxy A17 5G. It used to cost $199.99 when it was released back in January of this year, but was increased to $249.99 within the past few months, and is now $279.99. So all told it’s $80 more than it was in the beginning of the year.
As for the rest of the series, the Galaxy A57 5G now starts at $599.99, the Galaxy A37 5G starts at $489.99, and then the Galaxy A27 is now $379.99. These prices are for the 128GB models of each device. That being said, the Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37 both come in 256GB models as well, and the prices for those now sit at $679.99 and $609.99, respectively.
