One UI 9 is not widely available at the moment. The stable release is expected to kick off in the coming weeks. But before that, the South Korean tech giant is giving a closer look at the Warranty and care hub that’ll be available with One UI 9. After being spotted in an early build of the OS, Samsung is now sharing more details on what exactly it is and how it’ll help users with their warranty-related concerns.
Samsung’s One UI 9 brings a handy new Warranty and care hub
Let’s face it, managing warranties and coverage for Galaxy phones, Buds, Watches, and Tabs can sometimes be a hassle. Well, this new feature aims to assist users with that. One UI 9’s Warranty and care feature puts everything in one place, allowing users to check warranty status, run diagnostics, book repairs, and get support directly from Settings. It’ll also show whether you are eligible for Samsung Care Plus.
The feature can also display warranty and coverage information for other Galaxy devices connected to the same Samsung account. It consolidates the information in a single hub. Users can also explore and enroll in a Samsung Care Plus plan for extra protection.
Samsung is also offering a built-in Diagnostics feature when something doesn’t feel right. This checks the device components and functions, including the battery, charging, sensors, touch response, and connectivity. Samsung says this will help pinpoint the issue and guide users to the next step. That includes a suggested solution or a repair request.
Bixby is there if you have questions
There’s Bixby support too in case users have questions about any issues. Samsung uses a “My battery is draining too fast. What should I do?” example, with Bixby walking them through possible solutions step by step. It’s apparently a more convenient way to get answers without jumping between apps.
When troubleshooting doesn’t work and users need professional help, they can request a repair at a Samsung-authorized service center directly from Warranty and care settings. If you’re unable to visit a service center, you can start remote support from the same screen and get help directly on the device. Samsung also says users can see estimated repair costs for major components and compare the cost of the same repair with Samsung Care Plus.
The latter part makes Warranty and care more than just a place to check warranty details. It also works as an after-sales support hub. That said, the feature is only available on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Duo and Galaxy Z Flip 8 at the moment. But it should become widely available with the One UI 9 rollout.
