Samsung has just detailed its August 2026 Android security patch. The company once again did it before Google, which is not even surprising at this point. This security patch will be coming to the company’s phones and tablets.
Samsung’s August 2026 security patch brings 56 fixes to the table
Having said that, the patch includes a total of 56 fixes for various vulnerabilities on the company’s devices. It is expected to start rolling out in the near future, probably in the coming days.
Now, out of 56 security fixes that were mentioned, 38 of them come from Google (CVEs), while 18 fixes have been provided by Samsung (SVEs).
Google’s patches include 8 critical-priority fixes and 30 high-priority fixes. Samsung listed two high-priority fixes, 14 moderate-priority fixes, and 2 fixes with undisclosed priority levels.
It is also worth noting that 9 of Google’s fixes are not included in Samsung’s August 2026 patch, it has been noted. One of them was already a part of Samsung’s July 2026 security update, while the other 8 do not apply to the company’s devices.
Samsung’s highest-priority devices will likely get the update first
Needless to say, the company’s newest and most powerful devices are expected to get the update first. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 series and Galaxy Z Flip 8 are expected to ship with this update.
The Samsung Galaxy S26 series will probably follow, along with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. Various other former flagship devices will follow, along with the company’s more affordable phones.
Most of these security fixes apply to Galaxy phones and tablets running Android 14, Android 15, and Android 16. Once the rollout starts, it will start arriving gradually to devices and also roll out gradually. There’s a good chance the rollout will kick off in Korea, but spread to many other markets very soon after that.
