The Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro is one of the company’s upcoming high-end devices. This phone is the newcomer in the series. Thus far, Samsung has been announcing base, Plus, and Ultra Galaxy S models, but this time around, we’ll also get the Pro model. In other words, there will be four Galaxy S27 series devices this time around. The Galaxy S27 Pro will be second in line in terms of both pricing and prowess.
This smartphone is basically for people who don’t need the Galaxy S27 Ultra, and yet want something better than the Galaxy S27+. It will be a phone that won’t support an S Pen, but it will have a better camera setup than the base and Plus models. In this article, we’ll try to give you an idea of what’s coming in terms of the Galaxy S27 Pro, as rumors did start a while back.
This article will be regularly updated with new information on the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro (this is a preview article) — both official teasers and credible leaks, rumors, and insider claims — as it becomes available in the run-up to the release of the upcoming Android smartphone. This is the original posting of the article.
When will the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro be released?
The Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro will become official with the rest of the Galaxy S27 series in Q1 2027. We’re not sure if the company plans to announce these phones in January or February. Last year’s models arrived in February, while the Galaxy S25 series launched in January. So it’s anyone’s guess at this point; considering that Samsung did not confirm anything just yet, it’s still too early for that.
What models are coming?
The Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro is coming with the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, and Galaxy S27 Ultra. So there will be four Galaxy S high-end phones in total next year. The device is expected to offer 12GB of RAM and several storage options, though those are only early rumors at this point. LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0/4.1 storage will likely be on offer. Do note that the storage will not be expandable.
How much will the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro cost?
The Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro’s price tag is still a secret. What we do know is that the phone will cost less than the Galaxy S27 Ultra, and more than the Galaxy S27+. It is worth noting that the entire Galaxy S27 series is rumored to get a price bump compared to the Galaxy S26 series. That’s not exactly surprising considering that the component prices have been going up constantly.
What will the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro look like?
Considering it’s still quite early, we still haven’t seen a single leak of this smartphone. In fact, we didn’t even see a rumor that talks about its design. We’re going into it with a presumption that Samsung won’t change the design of its upcoming flagship smartphones all that much. There hasn’t been a single rumor that talked about a massive change in design, so things could look quite familiar.
The Galaxy S27 Pro will probably include a flat display with a centered display camera hole up top. It will also have a flat frame, with physical buttons on the right-hand side. Its frame will likely be made out of aluminum, while there will be glass on the back. One change that Samsung could make is related to the camera island on the back. That’s part of the Galaxy S series design that the company has been tweaking bit by bit.
We don’t expect the corners to be sharp here, not at all. This also won’t be a small phone, not at all. It will essentially be a more affordable variant of the Galaxy S27 Ultra; that’s how rumors are positioning it. So a large display is expected here. The bezels will likely be both thin and uniform, same as on the other Galaxy S27 series smartphones.
What specs will the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro have?
Unlike the Galaxy S27 Ultra, the Galaxy S27 Pro is tipped to arrive in two different SoC versions. In the US, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro is rumored to fuel the phone. In Europe, the Exynos 2700 from Samsung will fuel the device. The Galaxy S27 Pro is also expected to arrive in a single RAM variant, with 12GB of RAM. More than one storage variant is expected, though, most likely 256GB and 512GB models. The storage will not be expandable, though.
We’re still not sure about the display size. It could be the same size as the one on the Ultra (6.9 inches), or slightly smaller than that. It will be an OLED LTPO panel with up to 120Hz refresh rate, though. Samsung is expected to use a small percentage of silicon-carbon in Li-Ion batteries these phones will use, as it did with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series. The batteries are expected to get a small bump because of that. Considering that the Galaxy S27 Pro is the first ‘Pro’ Galaxy S phone, we’re not sure what battery capacity will it offer. It will be somewhere in between the Galaxy S27+ and Galaxy S27 Ultra, though. That display is expected to offer the Privacy Display feature from the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
What about the cameras? Well, a 200-megapixel main camera is expected, and it could be the same as on the Galaxy S27 Ultra. The Galaxy S27 Pro is tipped to utilize an inferior 12-megapixel 3x telephoto camera, not a 50-megapixel 5x one from the Galaxy S27 Ultra. A 50-megapixel ultrawide camera (Sony’s IMX855, 1/2.55-inch sensor size) is expected on both of these smartphones. Both phones are expected to offer a square camera sensor on the selfie camera, to match Apple.
Should you wait to buy the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro?
The Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro puzzle is nowhere near being completed. We’re still lacking a lot of information, so we cannot really talk about whether it’s worth buying yet, not even guess. It will be a new addition to the Galaxy S lineup, and by that alone, quite interesting. It only remains to be seen how much Samsung will cut corners compared to the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
