The Samsung Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 started receiving Android 17-based One UI 9 last week. That’s when the update started going out in the company’s homeland, South Korea. Now, that update has gone global, as Galaxy A35 and A55 units outside of Korea have started receiving One UI 9.
Global rollout of One UI 9 to the Galaxy A35 and A55 has started
It is worth noting that India is the first country to get the update outside of Samsung’s homeland. However, judging by past releases, the update will quickly spread to other markets.
Once it starts rolling out in your region, however, it will roll out in stages. So you will have to be patient either way. It will take quite some time for everyone to get it, up to several weeks, if everything goes according to plan.
This update, along with Android 17, brings Samsung’s latest One UI version, version 9. Along with that update, new features are included, of course. You’ll get a far more customizable Quick Panel that allows you to resize elements freely.
Quick Panel has new options, while AI has been updated
Samsung has improved both Samsung DeX and Samsung Notes with this update, while accessibility options have received a boost as well. New AI features are included, while Gemini integration has never been deeper.
A location privacy indicator is also included in this update, and more. We’re only scratching the surface here. It may not be the biggest update that the company ever released, but it sure has some meat to it.
Considering that everything went well in Korea with the rollout, there’s a good chance that it will continue with global markets. The chances of Samsung pulling the update due to a problem are very low.
The Galaxy A35 and A55 are just one in a long line of phones that have received this update. Various other devices are currently getting it all across the globe.
