Qualcomm just held its mobile keynote for the 2026 Snapdragon Summit and the main announcements were the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, boasting some very promising improvements for mobile gaming that will kick things up to the next level in the mobile gaming space.
During the keynote, Qualcomm talked about all of the new advancements that its two newest flagship chips would introduce to the industry, and some huge boosts to gaming were included. Qualcomm states that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, for example, has a 44% performance uplift over last generation, thanks to the new Adreno GPU used in the new platform. Qualcomm also claims it has a 40% improvement to power efficiency, as well as a 12% power improvement to high performance memory. “As mobile games grow larger and more complex, developers need faster and smarter access to memory,” says Qualcomm Senior Director of Product Management, Mobile Handset, Lekha Motiwala.

Qualcomm’s new chips don’t just stop at raw performance improvements over previous chips, Motiwala also states that the chips are integrating even more AI for mobile gaming purposes. New Adreno Matrix cores, which are dedicated GPU cores that are solely focused on processing AI tasks, such as “running advanced AI models right inside the graphics pipeline.”
Qualcomm says this matters because future gaming experiences won’t be just about raw performance, but enriched experiences that use AI in a number of ways. Qualcomm will be tackling that in part with the use of its new Adreno Neural Fusion system, which utilizes AI super resolution and frame generation to enhance graphical fidelity and ensure faster frame rates in demanding games.
Qualcomm says this is supported by major game engines and it already supported by more than 20 game titles, including Honkai Star Rail, Ananta, Silver Palace, Roco: Kingdom, Naraka: Bladepoint Mobile, War Thunder Mobile, Diablo Immortal, Saints Row The Third: Remastered, Farming Simulator 26, and several more. In short, it’ll enable better image quality, higher frame rates, and longer playtime thanks to the improved power efficiency.
