While the auto industry globally is tilting toward battery-electric mobility, for various reasons, there are certain automakers with so much heritage and brand equity wrapped up in their internal-combustion engines that it’s hard to imagine them – at least for now – ever abandoning petrol power. Bavarian Motor Works, AKA BMW, certainly fits into this small group, and not only because the company name is a constant reminder that the Bavarian motor works really well, whether it has four, six, eight, or 12 cylinders.
