If you own a Google Pixel and happen to follow European football, your phone’s home screen is getting a nice little upgrade. Google has expanded its roster of official sports partnerships by teaming up with three heavyweight football clubs: FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), and FC Bayern. This comes rigth after the launch of the Google Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold.
As part of the collaboration, Google is rolling out a total of nine brand-new wallpapers. They’re offering three dedicated high-resolution designs for each team. The new artwork joins previous sports-themed additions from UK clubs like Liverpool FC and Arsenal FC, giving fans an easy way to show off their team pride without downloading sketchy third-party graphics apps.
Behind-the-scenes content and stadium integrations
These new partnerships extend well beyond static digital backgrounds. According to an official announcement from FC Barcelona, the club’s digital media teams will start using Google Pixel hardware to film exclusive digital content showcasing the everyday lives of both its men’s and women’s squads.
Meanwhile, a blog post from PSG revealed plans to construct a dedicated Google space right inside its home stadium. The French club also confirmed it will rely on Pixel devices to record matchday clips, behind-the-scenes moments, and sideline footage directly for its official social channels (via Android Authority).
Custom app icons and future Pixel drops
The most interesting takeaway comes from official statements issued by FC Bayern and FC Barcelona. Both hint at much deeper software customization down the road. FC Bayern explicitly mentioned that future Pixel Drops will eventually feature free team-themed additions, including custom app icons and other design surprises. Barcelona similarly teased that the agreement will allow fans to fully personalize their device interfaces with official Barca branding.
Google hasn’t shared an exact timeline for custom icons or full interface themes just yet. However, the initial batch of artwork is already live. Pixel owners can head over to the native Wallpaper and Style section in their device settings today to apply the new FC Barcelona, PSG, or FC Bayern backgrounds.
