It looks as though Porsche wants to make driving an EV that much more involving, and it could do that by incorporating both simulated and authentic gear shifts into a future version of the Taycan or 718 Boxster/Cayman. A patent by the automaker, discovered in the United States Patent and Trademark Office, shows that Porsche is looking into a means of actuating the unique two-speed transmission incorporated into the Taycan’s rear electric motor.
