Last year, Poco launched its F8 series flagship phones. If you’ve been eyeing its successor, more details about the phone have leaked. This is thanks to an exclusive WinFuture report which has revealed the specs and images of the upcoming Poco F9 Ultra and F9 Pro smartphones.
Poco F9 Ultra images, specs leaked
Now, straightaway, if the images and specs of the Poco F9 Ultra look familiar, it’s because this is basically the rebranded version of the Redmi K100 Pro Max. This is because Redmi’s K-series is typically limited to China. So for the rest of the world, if they wanted the phone with the same design and specs, Poco is the alternative.
Just in case you missed our previous coverage of the K100 Pro Max, the phone features the same 6.9-inch 1200×2608 AMOLED display with a 185Hz refresh rate. It also boasts peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Under the hood, you can find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 accompanied by 12-16GB of RAM and 256-512GB of storage.
On the camera side of things, we’re looking at a 200MP camera with OIS, a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide. It also packs a 8,050mAh battery, which is smaller than the K100 Pro Max’s 9,070mAh battery. Lastly, the Ultra has an LED ring on the back for notifications.
As for the Poco F9 Pro, it’s more or less the same deal. However, the screen is smaller at 6.59-inches. It also features a smaller 6,330mAh battery. Also for its cameras, the Pro version has a 50MP telephoto camera. But it only supports 2.5x optical zoom. Its ultrawide sensor also drops from 50MP to 8MP.
Pricing and availability
Unfortunately, we do not know when either phone will launch. However, given that the Redmi K100 series was just announced, maybe the Poco F9 Pro and Ultra launch won’t be too far behind. As for pricing, that’s another mystery. However, the leak suggests the Pro model could be priced at €799, while the Ultra will go for €999.
That’s actually more expensive than the Poco F8 Ultra, which was priced starting at €829.90. However, that’s to be expected. The ongoing memory shortage has resulted in price hikes across the tech industry. So, even so-called flagship killer handsets will feel the pinch.
