While Google Pixel phones are often praised for having great-looking software with compelling features, annoying bugs seem to always find a way in. Pixel phones are still having problems with alarms, it seems.
Pixel phones are having a problem with alarms… again
A user reported the issue on Reddit, as he said that two alarms in a row did not go off. Instead of them working, he received a message for each alarm that said: “Alarm automatically silenced. Your alarm went off and was automatically silenced after the duration you set.”
The user said that he did not adjust any settings to silence the alarms. In other words, he’s blaming the app/phone for the issue. It wouldn’t be the first time Pixel phones have had such problems; we’ve seen the same issue in the past.
He did note that his phone storage was nearly full, so the warning that some apps may not function properly did pop up earlier. That should not affect alarms in any way, shape or form, though.
This issue dates back to 2021
Several other users said that they had the same issue on their Pixel phones, while pointing to the fact that Google has been struggling with this issue for a long time. Issues with alarms not going off date back to 2021.
One user said: “We encountered that bug recently. We have many (6+) alarms each day, and one definitely did not emit any sound contrary to what it of course does usually. We were sitting right next to the phone, and when we checked it showed the same message that you saw.”
It seems like Google is aware of the problem and is working on it. The Pixel Community account posted: “Hey everyone, Pixel Support Team here. We sent a few of you a chat, so we could look into this a bit more. Please check it out and get back to us when you get the chance. Thanks!”
Let’s hope that Google will fix this soon, as it’s kind of a crucial feature to have on your phone for many people. What’s worse, Pixel 11 also seems to be having a problem with an integral feature, incoming calls.
