
The project still has a way to go befores its fully permitted, but The Opus Group is a step closer to breaking ground. on a $125 million industrial project in Hutto. The group presented plans to the Hutto City Council for the roughly 800,000-square-foot, 70-acre development along County Road 119 and south of Rain Creek Drive. It is called the Hutto Tech and Trade Center.
The Austin Business Journal reports the project would add more industrial space to Hutto, among the fastest-growing cities in the country, with a population of around 43,000. It’s near the new Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. chipmaking plant in Taylor.
Opus has built projects throughout the country, including industrial, multifamily, student and senior living, office, retail, education, worship and government projects. The developer’s previous tenants and build-to-suit users around the country include Tesla Inc. and BAE Systems.
