The name of OPPO’s upcoming flagship smartphone is official, kind of. The OPPO Find X9 Ultra name has been confirmed via the NBTC certification in Thailand. This essentially confirms the name for global markets.
The OPPO Find X9 Ultra will be the name of the company’s upcoming global flagship
It is an indirect confirmation from OPPO itself, if you will. As some of you know, OPPO recently confirmed that its next ‘Ultra’ flagship is coming to global markets. It will become the very first ‘Ultra’ phone from the company to make it to global markets, actually. Until now, only Chinese versions were pushed out.
In addition to the ‘Ultra’ model, the OPPO Find X9s was also certified in Thailand. That device will also be quite compelling, but it won’t be anywhere near the level of the Find X9 Ultra. That handset will stand alone as the company’s ultimate flagship.
It is worth noting that both phones have been certified before, by global platforms, but their names were not mentioned, only model numbers. Well, now they have.
It is expected to have a great camera setup led by Sony’s new 200MP flagship sensor
The OPPO Find X9 Ultra is expected to become one of the best camera smartphones around. The Find X9 Pro already is, but the ‘Ultra’ model is expected to bring various improvements, including new optics.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 from Qualcomm is said to fuel the phone, while the device will include a triple or quad camera setup on the back, depending on which rumor you end up believing in. Sony’s LYT-901, aka LYTIA 901 200-megapixel camera sensor, is tipped to be used as the main camera. That is Sony’s most powerful sensor, which offers a 1/1.12-inch sensor size. That same camera will be used by the Vivo X300 Ultra as well.
A 200-megapixel telephoto unit (3x optical zoom) will also be included, along with a 50-megapixel ultrawide snapper. Samsung’s ISOCELL JN5 camera sensor is tipped to be used for the ultrawide camera. As far as the telephoto unit is considered, OmniVision’s OV52A sensor is tipped.
The last camera on the back will be a periscope telephoto camera, based on recent rumors, a 50-megapixel unit with 10x optical zoom. Samsung’s ISOCELL JN5 sensor is said to be used.
A large battery is also expected
That smartphone is also tipped to utilize a 6.82-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 7,000mAh+ battery. 80W wired and 50W wireless charging are also rumored.
